June 24, 2025 – Spain has taken a decisive step toward a more resilient and renewable-powered grid with the approval of new legislation aimed at accelerating energy storage deployment and enhancing grid flexibility.
A significant winner is Iberdrola España, which was awarded energy storage projects in six autonomous communities in Spain for a total of €170 million (USD 198 million) to build batteries, pumped storage, and industrial thermal storage.
These structures, crafted from sturdy shipping container homes, effortlessly blend durability with aesthetic appeal, promising a unique and tailored residence that thrives in Spain's diverse environments.
The unit, integrated into a shipping container, features a retractable solar array that unfolds onto the ground, adapting to various terrains. It can be set up within three hours and retracted during adverse weather conditions for protection.
