Two phase inverter which decreases the number of switches in the inverter is one method to realize low cost application. This paper shows how to use 4 switches of two phase inverter in order to drive three phase motor.

In order to supply power from the two-phase inverter to a three-phase motor which is the load, the wiring of one-phase of the motor is connected to the center potential of the DC source as shown in Fig. 1.
High Efficiency Conversion: Three-phase inverters utilize advanced PWM technology and efficient power switching devices to achieve high-efficiency conversion from DC to AC. Their conversion efficiency typically exceeds 90%, significantly higher than traditional power conversion equipment.
Two-phase inverters are more frequently employed as an emergency strategy for conventional three-phase inverter drives. The pros and cons of various control methods for two-phase inverters are detailed in recent literature . In the conventional three-phase inverter-fed induction motor drive, there are several control methods.
The two-phase inverter-fed motor drive circuit diagram is shown in Fig. 1. It consists of four switches known as two-legs. The two-phase inverter has two switching devices less than that of the conventional three-phase inverter.
Recent research into motor drives utilizing two-phase inverters have developed advanced techniques with diferent control methods. This paper compares performances of the two-phase inverter-fed three-phase induction motor drive using V/f control and three indirect vector control methods are performed with the same experimental apparatus.
