This marks the completion and operation of the largest grid-forming energy storage station in China. The photo shows the energy storage station supporting the Ningdong Composite Photovoltaic Base Project. This energy storage station is one of the first batch of projects supporting the 100 GW large-scale wind and photovoltaic bases nationwide.
A single base station energy storage system is configured with a set of 48 V/400 A-h energy storage batteries. The initial charge state of the batteries is assumed to obey a normal distribution, assuming that the base station has a uniform specification and its parameters are shown in Table 2. Table 2. The analysis results demonstrate that the proposed model can effectively reduce the power consumption of base stations while mitigating the fluctuation of the power grid load.
The advanced energy station includes two major subsystems: Station 1: 150MW/750MWh system connected via six 35kV lines to the planned 220kV substation. Station 2: 50MW/250MWh system connected via two 35kV lines to a separate 220kV substation.
Going forward, various tests and performance experiments will be carried out to provide data support for the testing and standard setting of grid-forming energy storage.
As the number of base station sizes participating in grid-assisted services increases, the greater the scheduling capacity of the energy storage, and the greater the number of incentivized users, the more effective the reduction of the total operating cost will be.
