Commercial and industrial (C&I) ESS is experiencing a surge in growth, entering a phase of rapid development. The increase in installations for utility-scale ESS far outpaces that of other types. This creates a significant opportunity for operators deploying energy storage assets. While lithium-ion is currently the most prevalent battery storage technology on the grid, its characteristics restrict operators' ability to earn revenue and address congestion.
